This stretch of beach is right next to the popular children's playground in MacPherson Park, the tennis courts, and more of the beautiful shoreline boardwalk. It's also a stellar venue to watch the Canada Day fireworks from.

For the rockhounding enthusiast, you'll also find more patches of stones here for you to check out.

Reserve Dunsmoor Park for your event.

The Dunsmoor Park features a beautiful beach and pavilion which is popular for picnics with family and friends. It's also close to MacPherson Park.

The white sand beach here is a destination beachgoers of all ages need to experience. There's a choice of entries to this sandy beach: 

• from County Road 15, west of Tiverton
• from Inverhuron Provincial Park - day use fees will apply

Even with its shallow water and gradual slope to deeper depths, the area is posted with strong undertow warnings. Keep a close eye on children and swim with care.

There's very little shade on this beach, so don't forget your sunscreen and hat!

For those who require mobility assistance, we're pleased to offer the rental of a beach wheelchair. A support person is required for use of the chair as it cannot be manually pushed by the user due to its large, smooth tires. 

You can reserve the beach wheelchair for free, and it's available seasonally from the Victoria Day long weekend in May through to Labour Day in September.

An accessible washroom is available at the south end of Station Beach on the lakeside of the cul de sac.

This portable and durable rollout mat is designed to enhance mobility for pedestrians and individuals experiencing mobility-related disabilities, including wheelchair and mobility scooter users.

The mat provides a portable walkway across the sand allowing for easy access to the waters' edge.  

The mat is installed in late June and removed after Labour Day.

The Municipality of Kincardine acquired the Mobi-Mat through the efforts of the Accessibility Advisory Committee and generous donations from Bruce Power and the Kincardine Rotary Club (in partnership with the Kincardine Agricultural Society and Community Foundation Grey-Bruce). 

The lake front is beautiful to look at, fun to swim in, and is a big draw for both residents and visitors. Within the beauty also comes risks to safety. We want everyone to be safe while enjoying the water!

Safety in the water

• Know before you go! Check the weather.
• Steer clear of the piers.
• Wear a life jacket.
• Stay dry when waves are high.
• Swim in marked areas.

Safety on the beach

• No littering.
• Pets must be leashed and picked up after.
• No ATVs or motorized vehicles.
• Obey all parking signs as posted.

• Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death in children under the age of 10.
• 80% of drowning victims are male.
• 66% of drowning victims are strong swimmers.

There are By-laws regulating open air burning as well as the use and sale of fireworks in the community:

• Open air fires are allowed by permit. Apply online for your burn permit today.

If you get caught in a rip and are drowning, you need to Flip, Float, and Follow!

Flip over onto your back and float.

• Float to:

  • Keep head above water.
  • Calm yourself down from fear and panic; don't panic.
  • Conserve your energy.

• Follow the safest course to safety:

  • Do not fight the current.
  • Follow the current to assess which way it's flowing. Swim perpendicular to the flow.
  • Too tired to swim? Continue floating and try to signal for help.

Make sure that anything you bring with you to the beach gets cleaned up and goes home with you, too. Keeping the environment clean is everyone's responsibility, so make sure your garbage and recyclables end up where they belong.
