More Information/Example

Decline to Vote Is when a voter chooses not to vote in any race in the election and declines the entire ballot. This is the first option on the ballot, and once initiated, no votes will be cast for all positions.
Abstain a Vote To abstain a vote, is when a voter chooses not to vote in one position on the ballot, but wishes to vote for other positions. For example, you vote for the mayor position but abstain from voting for the Councillor-at-large position.  This is a permitted option, and the vote for Mayor will be cast.
Under Vote An under vote occurs when a voter casts fewer votes than allowed in the position. For example, there are 3 positions available for Councillor-at-large, and the voter chooses to vote for only 2 candidates.  This is a permitted option, and the 2 votes will be cast.
Acclaimed When a position is acclaimed, there are the same number of candidates as available positions, so no vote is needed. For example, only one candidate is needed for the Deputy Mayor position, and one person ran for the position.  As a result, that person is elected by acclamation or acclaimed, and an election for this position is not required.
